What is a caucus?

Iowa Democrats attempt to change what the word "caucus" means through implementing a mail-in ballot process for presidential nominee selection.

Words matter, and definitions of those words also matter. The left, for years, has attempted to redefine what words mean.

Words like:

  • tolerance

  • healthcare 

  • safe

  • woman

And now caucus. 

The Iowa Democratic Party's state central committee approved a 2024 caucus delegation plan that would expand those participating to include those who send in mail-in ballots. The plan to address criticisms of the caucus process by the national Democratic leadership, including President Joe Biden, that caucuses are not inclusive enough.

The Democratic National Committee approved a presidential nominating calendar that strips Iowa of its First in the Nation status that Iowa Democrats can not follow, or they would violate state law that requires Iowa to hold its caucuses first.

In May, the Iowa Legislature passed, and Gov. Kim Reynolds signed, just last week, a bill that requires caucuses to be in person.

So the Iowa Democrats' plan would also violate state law.
