Congresswoman Boebert's joke about Jesus not having enough AR-15s to prevent his death represents a fundamental misunderstanding of the Gospel message.
U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., recently spoke at a "family camp meeting" event at Charis Christian Center, a non-denominational, charismatic church in Colorado Springs, Colo.
In her speech, Boebert addressed "Twitter trolls" arguing for strict gun control, "they like to say: 'Oh, Jesus didn't need an AR-15. How many AR-15s do you think Jesus woulda had?'"
"Well, he didn't have enough to keep his government from killing him," she joked.
